This gathering includes a talk by Dr. L. Annette Drain, a psychologist, author, professor, and licensed clinical therapist. Dr. Drain will discuss how we can cultivate inner peace, especially during times of transition, and show love to all (including those who anger, aggravate and annoy us!) A candlelight meditation by our belovedmeditation teacher Marilyn Joy will follow the talk. Recognizing that January 20 is Inauguration Day, we are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King's message of peace.
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
A portion of this event's proceeds will be donated to Horizons for Youth, a local non-profit which provides scholarships, mentorship and community to Chicago's underserved youth. Editor's note: As a former mentor for Horizons for Youth, I can personally attest to its amazing work. SM
